Born in New Delhi, India to a family incIinded towards arts and music, Nishant Akshar grew up amidst listening to golden voices: Mehdi Hassan, Ghulam Ali, Jagjit Singh. Naturally, he always thought and dreamed rich Indian music enjoying the ever enchanting world of ghazals. He uncovered his passion for music during his first harmonium lesson from his dad. From that point on, he was involved in school choir, local musical gatherings, and soon ventured into composing ghazals. Trained in Kirana Gharana style of singing from Gandharava Mahavidyalaya, he consolidated his passion for his creative music.
The collaborative spirit of Nishant Akshar with numerous contemporary poets has lead to new compositions. His self composed ghazals, thumris and dadras reverberate in the hearts of listeners. The audience always receives new qalaams along with already hit and evergreen farmaishi ghazals.
Selection of poetry plays a significant role. Adept in this art he picks up the appealing poetry due to his literary background. A sociology post grad, his decade long training in Indian Classical vocal is always an added advantage. Above all, his purity makes the ambience unforgettable.
